Wim Butte

Wim is the owner of the Sim, which is located in a garage of his farmhouse between the town of Haarlem and Amsterdam. Wim has been an aviation enthusiast for many decades. He worked for several airlines and tour operators before starting his own travel company in the eighties which specialized in the sale of airline tickets. Wim has a law degree with a master in Air & Space Law. He has been flying all over the world with his PPL. He was a member of the Schiphol Flying Club and at the same time he was member of a flying club in Palo Alto in California when he 'commuted' between Amsterdam and San Francisco for 6 years where he managed an airline ticket business as well. Wim is a Platinum for Live KLM FlyingBlue member and he still prefers a window seat and enjoys the magnificent views of the skies

Fun fact: Wim started a rock band called "The FlyingBoomers". Check out flyingboomers.com

Frans Broekhuijsen

  • Frans is the founder of the FSWeekend on Lelystad Airport and he organized the event for many years. The FSWeekend is the biggest flightsimulation event in the world.

Norbert Bosch

Norbert just retired as urologist. He has been flying with a PPL for many years.

He is now volunteer at the Aviodrome aviation museum at Lelystad airport. Norbert built his own sim home cockpit.

Fun fact: Once Norbert had to choose between a career in medicine or aviation. He choose the first because you can do aviation as a hobby.

Ron Vogel

Ron has built his own home cockpit, but he is a man that can build anything his eyes can see.

If not for Ron, we would have had just the FDS cockpit (which was wonderful already) but now we have a flight deck with 2 jump seats, circuit braker panels, cockpit doors, a galley and a cabin with business class seats!

Ronald Bleeker

Ronald has worked in the airline industry already for more than 30 years. In his spare time he is an enthusiastic plane spotter who travels all over the world to 'catch' aircraft he has not seen before. Tell him a registration number and he knows the history of that plane! Ronald prefers to do the ATC communications over flying and he is good at it!

Ronald van Ingen

Ronald van Ingen is a military police officer. You don't want to have an encounter with him on Schiphol airport with his automatic rifle hanging over his shoulder haha... Ronald is married to a KLM flight attendant and he has built his own dc-6 sim. Ronald is our record holder with more than 6.000 (!) Vatsim hours under his belt!!

Willem Jubels

Willem is not only a serious flight simmer with his own sim at home in the center of Amsterdam, but he is the only active real live pilot of the club right now. Willem is member of the Schiphol Flying Club. He has a PPL with twin engine rating and instrument rating.

Fun fact: Willem does not have a driver's license! Not necessary when you live in Amsterdam haha. So he travels by scooter... For his work Willem flies all over the world and like Wim, he is a Platinum for Live member of KLM Flyingblue.

Danny Stotijn

Danny is the newest member of our club. Danny has his PPL and he is member of the Rotterdam Flying Club which flies out of EHRD.

Michiel van de Puyl

Michiel is our "Flight Engineer" and our non-flying member. Michiel has been a member of our club since the very beginning. His assistance and technical expertise has been essential with moving the cockpit shell into the garage. He has done the installation for our heating and water. Michiel has installed the air conditioning system for our Sim and computers. With his help we can now switch on the airco with our Packs switches in the cockpit!

Fun fact: Michiel loves to wear old Dutch wooden shoes!
